My Third Place

In 2020 The Landscape Institute announced the winning entries to its international design competition, Transforming the urban landscape, showcasing a vision for post COVID-19 streets and spaces.

PWP Design were runners up in the Professional Category and our submission was developed in collaboration with our friends at R Vint Engineering.

The whole team were involved and showcased our creativity and an opportunity to come together virtually at a time when we were all working from home.

The experience captured a moment for us as a design practice and put our name on the international stage.

COVID-19 focused public attention on the huge inequalities in outdoor space and landscape architect’s are uniquely placed to help in our work.

We are really proud of the way the team explored these themes and developed a proposition to achieve welcoming outdoor community spaces within walking distance of everyone in the country.

"PWP Design delivered an extensive and inspiring design guide and sketch design, transcending our own expectations of what was possible with our limited budget. Simon Hall's knowledge, enthusiasm and ever-present support has been a breath of fresh air and we are extremely thankful for his contribution to the project."
